A kitchen remodel can completely change how a space feels and functions. In the Hartland neighborhood, we are currently working on a Shiloh inset cabinet kitchen remodel that reimagined a traditional kitchen into a modern, open, and highly functional space. This project highlights how thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship can elevate any kitchen, no matter its original layout.

Creating a Spacious and Functional Island

One of the standout features of this remodel is the large 10-foot island. Instead of crowding the space with bulky appliances, we designed the island to be completely open. This approach maximizes counter space and allows for flexible use, whether for meal prep, casual dining, or entertaining guests.

The island’s size and openness give the kitchen a welcoming, airy feel. It serves as the heart of the space, encouraging family and friends to gather around comfortably. The clean lines of the Shiloh inset cabinets add a timeless elegance, while the open design keeps the kitchen from feeling cramped.

Adding an Elevated Touch with a Full 18-Inch Backsplash

To complement the island and enhance the kitchen’s visual appeal, we chose a full 18-inch backsplash. This taller backsplash adds a sense of height and sophistication to the room. It also protects the walls from cooking splatters while making cleaning easier.

The backsplash material was carefully chosen to harmonize with the cabinetry and countertops, creating a cohesive look. This design choice brings a polished, elevated feel to the kitchen without overwhelming the space.

Enhancing Natural Light with a Picture Frame Window

Natural light plays a crucial role in making any kitchen feel inviting. As part of the remodel, we added a picture frame window that perfectly frames the outdoor view. This window not only brightens the kitchen but also connects the indoor space with the surrounding environment.

The window’s clean, simple lines match the Shiloh inset cabinet style, maintaining the kitchen’s cohesive design. It also provides a pleasant spot to enjoy the view while cooking or cleaning.

Incorporating Panel-Ready Appliances and a Pantry

Modern kitchens need to blend style with functionality. To achieve this, we integrated panel-ready appliances that seamlessly blend with the cabinetry. This approach keeps the kitchen looking sleek and uncluttered, avoiding the visual disruption of traditional appliance finishes.

Additionally, we included a pantry to provide ample storage. The pantry’s design complements the rest of the kitchen, offering a practical solution for organizing food and kitchen essentials without sacrificing style.

Working with a Wonderful Customer

Every remodel is a collaboration, and this project was no exception. The customer was a pleasure to work with, open to ideas and clear about their vision. Their enthusiasm and trust allowed us to push creative boundaries and deliver a kitchen that truly fits their lifestyle.

The result is a space that feels both luxurious and comfortable, tailored to the needs of the household while showcasing the beauty of Shiloh inset cabinetry.

Reimagining Any Space

This Hartland kitchen remodel proves that any space can be reimagined with the right design choices. By focusing on openness, natural light, and cohesive details, we transformed a traditional kitchen into a modern, functional, and inviting area.

Whether you have a small kitchen or a large one, the principles applied here—such as maximizing counter space, adding thoughtful lighting, and integrating appliances—can help you create a kitchen that works for you.

If you’re considering a kitchen remodel, think about how you want to use your space and what design elements will make it feel more open and welcoming. A well-planned remodel can elevate your home and improve your daily life.
